HOPE2020 Webinar Event

How to use WhatsApp to win Souls and Disciple people

As part of the Hope2020 strategy towards reaching a Deep Life Goal of 1 million multiplying disciples by the end of 2020, we have developed different evangelism and discipleship strategies to use to spread the Gospel on WhatsApp. We want to help church outreach teams and evangelistic teams to use WhatsApp to witness in this season. We believe with digital evangelism you can reach more people globally that you can never even meet in your lifetime.

With the issue of many countries being under complete lockdown since March, April. We saw restriction to movement. Every sphere of society was put on a standstill including missionary activity. At the time when the world needed hope, there was restriction in missionary movements and church outreach departments to preach the Gospel and Win Souls.

We had to ask ourselves a question that is Evangelism only defined in the context of face to face? If that was the case, why was it not mentioned in the Bible? If the world was under total lockdown to the end of age, does that mean we won’t win souls and disciple people?

The spread of the pandemic virus, Covid-19 has taught us that we are connected and if there is over 2 billion active users on WhatsApp daily, why not use it to win souls? How many people do you think we can reach worldwide with the Gospel of Jesus?

We had a Zoom Webinar training from the 24th of June to the 26th of June 2020 to train churches, evangelists and evangelistic movements to be more effective in winning souls and disciple people using WhatsApp.

Different Evangelism tools were used to train people to use them for WhatsApp. We partnered with the Digital Strategies Department of Campus Crusade For Christ, where some of their tools like the Jesus Film, the God Tools App, the Knowing God online Discipleship platform and the Prayer Care Share Strategy was utilised.

Churches and movements were impacted beyond measure and we are already receiving reports of how the training was helpful to them.
